Everyone who's ever visited our lounge on a busy evening knows it's a super place for cool drinks, great conversation and plenty of fun. But how could we make it even better?

Our host, Al Lopez, figured that if his many patrons liked to sing half as much as they liked to talk, then Karaoke Saturdays simply couldn't miss...and it looks like he was right. Starting in February, one of Akron's best karaoke DJs hits the house at 9pm and sets up for one of the funnest nights around. With a wide selection of favorites available, you're sure to find a song that will set the lounge on fire.

"The response had been really great so far," says Al, who was inspired to start Karaoke Saturdays after seeing how much fun the guests had been having at some parties the restaurant had hosted. "I knew there was a portion of our clientele who would be enthusiastic--and when some of our other regulars came by to see what was up, they agree--it was a great idea."

Of course, it doesn't matter if you're a Frank Sinatra lover, a Rolling Stones fan, Dwight Yokum devotee or Gangnam Style rapper...you're bound to have fun at our Karaoke microphone any Saturday night til 1am. C'mon over and show us what you've got!

Rated as the "17th Best Brewery in the World" by Ratebeer.com, and one of Akron's best-known names in beer, Hoppin' Frog Brewery makes it's home just down Waterloo Road, just a stone's throw from Siamones' front door. Brewery owner Fred Karm has visited our restaurant and lounge on may occasions, and this mutual admiration is just one reason why we've been happy to host beer tastings for Hoppin' Frog.

Born and raised in Cambodia, Siamone learned at a very early age how to cook authentic Cambodian and Thai dishes. She brought these skills and recipes to America when she moved here in 1974. Her goal and dream was to be able to share these recipes and dishes with everyone by opening her own restaurant. That dream was fulfilled in 2006, with the opening of Siamones Thai Pub in the Gala Commons Complex on Rte. 224, right across from Springfield Lake.

“This is a fun place, and it has the best Thai food around at a good price,” says host Al Lopez. "We strive to create an atmosphere where people can come in, enjoy great food and make new friends. We work hard to make all of our customers feel welcome...and they reward us time and time again by coming back--and telling their friends about us."

Since opening, people have come from all over to taste the authentic cuisine, including fans like Hall of Famer Dave Robinson of the Green Bay Packers, professional golfers Robert Allenby and Padraig Harrington, and local favorites Stan Pyatt and Jim Midock of WNIR radio in Akron.
